The annual Plastics Live consortium of events, with dedicated focus on the plastics manufacturing sector in the UK, will return to the CBS Arena, June 2024. The event — which looks at all aspects of modern plastics day manufacturing — incorporates Plastics Live, AMPLAS, Sustainable Plastics Live, and Industry 4.0 in Plastics.

Ampacet, a global masterbatch leader, has obtained COTREP technical notice for its new generation NIR-sortable masterbatch solutions.
COTREP, a technical committee for recycling plastic packaging in France founded by Citeo, Elipso and Valorplast, has recently amended its sorting protocol for black PET packaging.

Martin Baumann
Martin Baumann has been named as the new Managing Director of Arburg Inc. in Rocky Hill, USA. He will assume office on 1 June, succeeding Friedrich Kanz who is handing over the reins of the U.S. subsidiary on 30 June, 2023 to enter retirement after more than 23 years with the company.

A blowing agent can be included within an additive masterbatch in pellet form. The active ingredient can create a foaming effect within the polymer during the plastic moulding process.

The family-owned company produces coffee-cup coasters made of biopolymers based on ground coffee. For production, they use a CX 130-750 injection moulding machine from KraussMaffei.
